John R. Grubb Community YMCA
The Variety Club of Iowa and City of Des Moines John R. Grubb Community YMCA, established in 1994, is one of our most comprehensive multi-use facilities, and plays a major role in serving Des Moines' enterprise community.
The Grubb branch provides many traditional Y programs as well as unique programs, such as a GED program designed to meet the needs of the local community. The facilities include three school classrooms, a youth center, indoor pool, fitness center, gymnasium, indoor track, and outdoor athletic fields. Child Watch is available for small children while their parents participate in programs.
