About the Annual Campaign and Girls on the Run of Polk County
The last two words of the Y's mission--for all--are the words that drive the Annual Campaign. The YMCA serves all children and families through our programs and services. Thanks to many generous community supporters, the YMCA strives to not turn anyone away due to an inability to pay. Because of generous contributions to the Annual Campaign, the YMCA of Greater Des Moines continues to help build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.
Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity-based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-5th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games.
