Spring Break Programs
The Indianola Y had the privilege of working with over 60 kids during the 2017 Spring Break. We created movies, made some delicious food, danced, made robots, and discovered our inner artist. Here are some videos and pictures from that week.
Strong Kids don’t just happen, they are built through making healthy choices each and every day! Join us for our NEW youth fitness class aimed at getting our youth ACTIVE, developing foundational training SKILLS, giving youth a place to BELONG, and making fitness FUN!
·Tuesday & Thursday evenings, 5:30-6:15pm
·Tuesdays: Cardio focus through high energy workouts and games
·Thursdays: Strength focus through teaching fundamental skills and utilizing bodyweight and lightweight resistance
·All days will include prepared Y staff, carefully planned curriculum, warm-up and cool-down, stretching, and relationship building to strengthen the group
·9-13 years, Boys & Girls
·Drop-in class (no registration necessary, but we do encourage participants to commit to the entire 45 mins
·FREE for Y members (guests and day pass users are welcome to attend as well)
·Strong Kids will meet in the Gym (class may move to other areas of the facility
At the Y, our sports staff, coaches and volunteers all share a singular vision of helping all youth reach their full potential in life. We leverage the excitement and passion around recreational and competitive programming to create a healthy outlet for children to gain new skills, develop a sense of team and connect with positive role models.
Instructional Basketball League- New Session starts up January of 2018
Super Hoopers is an instructional youth basketball program. Participants will learn fundamental skills and rules using age appropriate equipment. All age groups will learn primarily through developmental drills, games, and scrimmages. This program focuses on participation, physical activity, and learning in small groups, and FUN!
