Socialize with other children while having fun! These programs will stimulate and nurture the development of young children with activities to further enhance intellectual and motor development. Along with making new friends, and having wonderful fun experiences, Y Staff and children work together to help children grow healthy, happy and strong. This program class is designed to engage children in the YMCA for approximately an hour a week during a five week session. Trained, professional, enthusiastic staff is warm and responsive to your child's needs and their experiences. Classes are offered at Waukee Family YMCA.
The Y Preschool program builds on children's natural desire to learn new things and become more self reliant. Getting along with other children, taking turns and working in a group is a natural part of development and learning skills. The Y Preschool program is an exciting and challenging place helping children stretch their skills in mind and body. Along with making new friends and having wonderful fun experiences, children will be challenged to grow socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively.
Our purpose is to provide an environment that will stimulate and nurture the development of your children by surrounding them with the tools to help them understand the world around them. Along with the social element of preschool, the children will receive academic exposure to pre-emergent reading, writing, math and science skills that promote Kindergarten readiness.
Our teachers are enthusiastic, trained professionals who are warm and responsive to the opportunities your child faces. They love teaching and it shows in the dedication that they have to their students and the experiences that are created in the classroom.
This program is designed to offer your child an on-going learning experience. Enrollment is on an annual basis and follows the community school district's calendar. A monthly tuition is charged for this program. Preschool is offered at the Waukee Family YMCA.
