*Elizabeth Beisel is a three-time Olympian (08, 12, 16), winning silver in the 400m IM and bronze in the 200m backstroke at the 2012 Olympic Games. A native of Rhode Island, she swam for the University of Florida, where she won two NCAA titles and earned 18 All American honors. She retired from competitive swimming in 2017, and appeared on Season 39 of “Survivor” in 2019, finishing 9th after being voted out of the game on Day 30.
On February 11, Beisel’s memoir, Silver Lining, was published. Amazon calls it “a raw and honest account of her journey toward becoming one of the best athletes in the world and the successes and failures that came along the way.” A number of swimming notables, including Rowdy Gaines, Katie Ledecky and Caeleb Dressel, have praised the book for capturing what it’s like to compete at the elite level of the sport.
