I know that they are there to help me and encourage me along the way.
"I was referred to the YMCA Healthy Living Center (Y-HLC) physical therapy team in January 2015 by my primary care physician because of back pain I was experiencing due to degenerative disc disease/spinal stenosis. I had previously had back surgery in 2012 and was experiencing a recurrence of my symptoms.
The Y-HLC physical therapy helped to decrease my lower back and leg pain through aquatic exercise sessions as well as regular physical therapy sessions. I was able to strengthen my muscles which helped to improve my range of motion and posture, as well as decrease my pain. I was learning new ways to exercise with little to no pain while improving my overall physical health.
I started to learn how I could take what I was learning during my physical therapy sessions and incorporate it into my daily life to help me feel better. The one-on-one time that I got with my therapist was excellent, and I knew that the time that we spent together was devoted to helping me reach my goals. I found my Y-HLC experience amazing and I am so happy that my physician referred me. Since I graduated from physical therapy I have joined the Y-HLC, and I go to the gym at least four to five days a week.
I love it there and feel like I’m part of a family. Everyone there is extremely helpful, and I know that they are there to help me and encourage me along the way. I would recommend the Y-HLC for anyone who needs help reaching their physical goals. They are amazing! I am grateful for everyone!"
