A resident of the YMCA Supportive Housing Campus for two and a half years, Wendy has been very happy with the offerings in our community. “I can be alone if I choose or I can come talk with people and laugh with them,” she says. “I’m happiest when I’m with people I enjoy, and there is lots of laughter.”
Wendy describes herself as outgoing, compassionate and intelligent. She surprised herself recently when she discovered she has the patience to create art. She began coloring as a form of therapy and has branched into designing a large collage mural in her apartment.
“Life happened, and we’ve all been broken. Everyone has their reason to be here,” Wendy reflects. But she’s a firm believer in perseverance and resilience: “This is a place where healing is happening.”
