Five Des Moines area residents have been named to the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Greater Des Moines.
Individuals appointed to three-year terms include Shannon Cofield, senior consultant, Smarter Learning Group; Laura Jackson, executive vice president; Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield; Bob Montgomery, vice president/general manager, OnMedia/Mediacom; Austin Palmer, president; The Palmer Group; and Bill Wright, senior vice president, Terrus Real Estate Group.
Two other individuals were appointed to a second three-year term on the YMCA Board of Directors including Alejandro Hernandez, senior vice president, Wells Fargo; and Tom Hobt, vice president, HyVee.
Tom Stanberry, an attorney with Davis, Brown Law Firm, has been elected president of the YMCA Board of Directors. He replaces Nick Henderson of Holmes Murphy, who will serve a two-year term as past chair.
Other new officers are Barrie Christman, chief executive officer of Principal Bank, is the chair-elect, while Clarence Hudson, executive director of the Iowa Sports Foundation, will serve as the board’s secretary.
