9 Tips for a Healthy, Active Lifestyle in the New Year
Try a Wellness Program | Wellness Programs have caps on the amount of people who may register for the class. You'll always have a guaranteed spot. Browse Wellness Programs
Mix up your routine | Work your abs while waiting for the treadmill or strength training before your run (or vice versa).
Meet with a Wellness Coach | Our coaches are here to help. They can guide you toward a variety of activities and help draw up a plan for to you meet your goals. Make an appointment today.
Park in the back rows | It’s good for your heart and health. It may be cold, but your body burns more calories in cold temperatures because it is working hard to stay warm!
Try a new cardio machine | Rowing machines and bikes may be open while treadmills and ellipticals are occupied. Or hit the track.
Remember, you were new once, too. | Welcome new members and help them navigate if you can. You'll be glad you did.
Lead by example | New gym-goers learn by observation. They'll exercise to proper gym etiquette if you do. So remember to re-rack weights, wipe mats and limit time on machines. Facility Policies
Get to know new people | Your social network can benefit your health as much as the class you’re taking, so get to know your fellow Y members.
Try different times | Peak times are generally mid-morning (8-11 a.m.) and early evening (4-7 p.m.)
