DES MOINES - Local leaders and businesses are making sure Iowans have every opportunity to vote in the Midterm Election on November 6.
All eight branches of the YMCA of Greater Des Moines are providing free childcare on Election Day to make it easier for parents to vote. It's called the Parents to the Polls program, and parents can drop off their child to play for up to two hours while they go to vote. The service is free and open to both members and non-members. Children must be ages six weeks to nine years old.
DART is offering free rides to anyone in the Des Moines area on Election Day as well. Polls are open in DART's service areas from 7 a.m.to 9 p.m., so DART will offer the free rides throughout the entire day. Once you know where to vote, you can use the MyDAR Trip Planner on DART's website and plan your trip through there.
