Meet featuring the world’s top professional swimmers and Olympic hopefuls takes place March 4-7 at the Wellmark YMCA
Des Moines, IA (Jan. 30, 2019) – Tickets are now on sale for the 2020 TYR Pro Swim Series event in Des Moines, which runs March 4-7 at the MidAmerican Energy Company Aquatic Center, which is located at the Wellmark YMCA in downtown Des Moines.
The TYR Pro Swim Series, sanctioned by USA Swimming, is composed of five nationally televised meets featuring the world’s top-ranked swimmers and Olympic hopefuls. Des Moines is the third of five stops in the 2020 series, which also includes events in Greensboro, NC, Knoxville, TN, Mission Viejo, CA and Indianapolis, IN.
“Last year’s TYR Pro Swim Series event at the MidAmerican Energy Company Aquatic Center was a sellout, and interest is expected to be even higher this year,” said Frankie Hanson, director of aquatic operations for the YMCA of Greater Des Moines.
“With 2020 being an Olympic year, we will host more top swimmers from the U.S. and across the globe seeking the high level of competition offered by the TYR Pro Swim series,” Hanson added. "Fans in Des Moines will get an up-close look at the athletes who will be vying for medals at the Olympic Games in Tokyo."
