Programs Offered With Your YMCA Membership
Meeting with a Wellness Coach is a great way to empower you to meet your healthy lifestyle goals and guide you toward success. Our Wellness Staff will discuss goals, take measurements, set up ActivTrax, show you equipment and help create a program that is best for you. This service is included with your membership. Our Youth Orientation helps kids, ages 8-13, learn how to safely use the equipment in the wellness center. Kids under the age of 14 must be with a guardian while in the wellness center. By completing the Youth Orientation and being with an adult, kids will continue to learn how to safely exercise. This service is free with your membership.
The South Suburban YMCA offers a variety of classes that challenge your cardio fitness, strength, flexibility and balance. Participation in Group Exercise offers members opportunities for friendship and community, a sense of well-being, increased self-confidence and improved mental abilities. We all have different goals and needs. Sometimes the expertise of a fitness professional is needed to help with program plan development, motivation or accountability. All Y Personal Trainers are nationally certified and trained to help you meet your fitness goals with an individualized exercise prescription and coaching. Your first session will involve a fitness assessment, consultation and program design to make sure you are getting what you want and need from your trainer. Small Group Training
This is fun, new concept at the Y! Do you have a group of 5 friends that you would like to work out with? Let us know and we'll find a Certified Trainer for you that works for your schedule. Enjoy a small group personal training setting with encouragement and motivation to ensure your success on your terms. These 45 minute, one or two-time/week (semi-reserved) classes will be designed with your group in mind! Small group classes include TRX, Booth Camps, Small Group Strength Training and more!
Small Group Training Format:
Class length at 45 minutes
Class times determined by group scheduling or Trainer availability
Minimum of 5 participants in order to have class
Trainer may add participants in order to fill class
Maximum class size determined by type of class and Trainer
1x/Week Classes (Monthly sessions):
Member: $40 ($8/class) for 45 min. class, $35 for 30 min. class
Non Member: $70 ($14/class)
2x/Week classes (Monthly sessions):
Member: $70 ($7/class)
Non Member: $100 ($10/class)
