The Waukee Family YMCA proudly provides classes within our wellness department for all ages! Check out our group exercise classes, which are a great way to build community and wellness accountability in a group setting and are included in your membership fees at no additional cost. In addition to classes, our wellness center is equipped with a full range of cardio equipment including treadmills, elliptical, Arc Trainers, bikes, row machines and AMTs. We offer weight machine circuits; Freemotion and Strive and an extensive free weight room.

At Waukee Family YMCA we want you to be successful on your wellness journey. To aid in this, we offer all of our members free Wellness Coaching. Wellness Coaching is a great option for any level of exerciser. Our Coaches can help those who are new to exercise develop a plan that works in your busy life. They can help those who are ready for new of different goals start moving in another direction. If you are struggling with motivation, they are skilled at helping member to prioritize and determine next steps. They can even help you work through your healthy eating challenges and habits. If you are interested in using the weight equipment, fitness center, group exercise classes, ActivTrax, or even Personal Training, our Wellness Coaches can help to make sure you're heading in the right direction based on your personal goals. Group Exercise Classes
The YMCA offers many classes to help support you in your pursuit of a healthy lifestyle. Zumba, Yoga, Barre, Pilates, Cycling, BodyPump, & Heat are just some of the classes we offer. In addition to the dozens of classes offered each week at the Waukee YMCA, hundreds of classes are accessible to you at our metro locations. Group Exercise classes are included in your member fees. Anyone 14 years of age or older may participate in classes. Youth ages 8-13 must participate with an adult.
We all have different goals and needs. Sometimes the expertise of a fitness professional is needed to help with program plan development, motivation, or accountability. All Y Personal Trainers are nationally certified and trained to help you meet your fitness goals with an individualized exercise prescription and coaching. Your first session will involve a fitness assessment, consultation, and program design to make sure that you are getting what you want and need from your trainer.
This is a fun, new concept at the Y! Do you have a group of 5 friends that you would like to work out with? Let us know, and we will find a Certified Trainer for you that works for your schedule. Enjoy a small group personal training setting with encouragement and motivation to ensure your success on your terms. Tae Kwon Do is said to be the most practiced martial art in the Western World and classes are available in almost every city in the United States. When you start training in TKD, you are embarking on a path that will be unlike anything you have ever undertaken.
