TRX Suspension Training
TRX is a small group setting using suspension training to build true functional strength and improve flexibility, balance and core stability.
Women On Weights
Ladies, join this group and you can overcome any barriers you may have about working out in the free weight room. Your Certified Trainer will teach you the correct way to use the equipment in our wellness center and will also create a different workout for you and your small group each class. The workouts are designed to build muscular strength and endurance while giving you a total body workout.
Small Group Training Format

¨ Class length @ 45 minutes
¨ Class times determined by group scheduling and Trainer availability
¨ Minimum of 4 participants in order to have class
¨ Trainer may add participants in order to fill class
¨ Maximum class size determined by type of class and Trainer
1x/Week Classes (Monthly sessions):
¨ Member: $40 ($8/class)
¨ Non Member: $70 ($14/class)
2x/Week Classes (Monthly sessions):
¨ Member: $70 for ($7/class)
¨ Non Member: $100 ($10/class)

Pilates builds strength, improves flexibility and increases your mind/body awareness. Our Pilates instructors will guide you through safe, customized and challenging full-body workouts on our new state of the art Pilates equipment. Everyone can benefit from Pilates workouts, from those just starting their fitness journey to the elite athlete looking to improve performance.
The YMCA’s POWER CYCLING program utilizes a science-based approach to develop the maximum amount of improvement possible during the 8-week session. Workouts are designed to help you improve your performance over the winter. Using the accuracy of watts output for power control, and adding in some rocking music and good-natured peer pressure, the YMCA’s POWER CYCLING program will get you fast, faster!

“The Way of Coordinated Power”
Hapkido is a Korean martial art that teaches joint locks, throws, pressure points, strikes and falling for a complete system of self defense. Members practice defense from attacks from the front, side, back, ground, wall and weapons. Hapkido is a traditional martial art, with no sports competitions or forms.
Come for one session to learn basic self-defense and falling; stay for years to improve those skills, gain confidence and ensure safety and security for a lifetime! Ken Pilch is the head instructor for hapkido. Mr. Pilch is a 6th degree black belt with 26 years of law enforcement experience. He's been teaching in Des Moines since 1991.
