Before living at the Y, I was at a homeless shelter. Since moving in here at the Y, my life has become more peaceful and less dramatic. I have made friends here that are genuine and not out to use me, and I sleep well every night knowing that I am in a safe environment.
I am a proud veteran and served in the Army 2nd Armored Division Artillery from December of 1977 through March of 1981. Being a veteran, Richardine from the VA assisted me with getting into the Supportive Housing Campus on the Grant Per Diem program. I am very thankful.
My favorite part about the Y is making new friends, my case manager Morgan and helping others become closer to the good Lord. In the next year I either see myself still living here or even possibly back in my old house in a little town called Williamson located in Lucas County.
Unique fact about myself: I love the great Lord Jesus first. I love helping others when I can and I also love my country. If you doubt this, come see my unit. One look and you will know what I am talking about. God Bless!
