“I moved here from the shelter to clean up my life,” Terry says. A YMCA Supportive Housing Campus resident for the past four months, Terry has already made many friends and has become a terrific volunteer in our community. Terry is the child of Norwegian immigrants and traveled to Norway several times when he was younger.
Terry says he's happiest when he’s volunteering in the SHC kitchen. He’s always willing to give his time and energy to help serve dinner. He’s comfortable doing any job in the kitchen, but you’ll often find him scrubbing pots and pans in the dish room, staying as late as needed to clean up.
When asked what he wished people knew about the YMCA Supportive Housing Campus, Terry remarked, “This is a good place and donors are doing a good thing here. I’m always glad to meet people, and I’m very glad to be here.”
