Format: Your “score” for the YMCA Triathlon Series is based on your finishing position in each triathlon. The better you finish, the lower your point total. The overall winners (male/female) will have the lowest combined score of the three triathlons. All three triathlons count equally toward your final score. Therefore, your rank and score will not be finalized until the final triathlon is complete.
The overall top male and female finisher will be crowned the winner and receive an incredibly awesome prize package. Prize TBA
Annual Campaign and Girls on the Run of Central Iowa
The last two words of the Y's mission—for all—are the words that drive the Annual Campaign. The YMCA serves all children and families through our programs and services. Thanks to many generous community supporters, the YMCA strives to not turn anyone away due to an inability to pay. Because of generous contributions to the Annual Campaign, the YMCA of Greater Des Moines continues to help build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.
Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity-based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games.
Funds from the Annual Campaign make the program possible for girls who otherwise could not participate. 45% of participants participate at a reduced rate funded by the Annual Campaign.
