Walnut Creek Y Revitalization Update!
Coming Up in the Weeks Ahead
Interior Painting will begin the week of October 11th. This will start in the Main Gym and continue throughout.
PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE REPLACEMENT
Beginning on Tuesday, October 6th, the circle drive and a portion of the lower lot will be closed to make room for equipment and allow the bridge to be replaced. During this time, a temporary pedestrian walkway will be in place along the south side of the driveway using the vehicle bridge.
ONE-WAY BRIDGE TRAFFIC
Traffic will be narrowed to a single lane and limited to one car at a time across the bridge. As you reach the single-lane portion, please approach with caution and check to be sure there are no oncoming vehicles before entering the single-lane portion.
TRAFFIC PATTERN
While our driveway across the creek is limited to a single lane, we are moving to a ONE-WAY, counter-clockwise traffic flow in our north lot. As you ENTER the lot, please turn right/north and proceed along the side closest to the creek. When exiting, please continue the counter-clockwise flow and exit via the side closest to the building. This will keep traffic moving as smoothly as possible and allow for the best view to watch for oncoming traffic when leaving the lot.
We realize traffic will move more slowly as we are down to one lane. Please give yourself a few extra minutes, drive with caution, be courteous and alternate cars moving across the bridge.

We will be closed Monday, October 5 as crews install our new RTU (rooftop HVAC) units—an important step in updating the building’s mechanical systems and helping improve comfort and efficiency throughout the Y.

Walnut Creek Y Revitalization Update!
Here’s a peek at what’s happening behind the scenes:
- Roof replacement over the pool has started
- Drywall taping & finishing is underway in the Kid Zone
- Mechanical, electrical & plumbing work continues above the ceilings
- Additional project work is being priced and planned

Locker Room Renovations Begin August 10
Exciting improvements are coming to Walnut Creek YMCA! Beginning Monday, August 10, our Family Locker Rooms will be closed as we begin the first phase of our locker room renovation project.
Our renovation schedule is expected to be:
- Phase 1: Family Locker Rooms (beginning August 10)
- Phase 2: Men's Locker Rooms
- Phase 3: Women's Locker Rooms
Each phase could take anywhere from 2-4 weeks to finish. We will keep you posted on the length of time during each phase.
We know temporary closures can be inconvenient, and we truly appreciate your patience as we make these much-needed improvements. These renovations are part of our continued investment in creating a better YMCA experience for all of our members and guests.
We'll continue to provide updates throughout the project and share information about available locker room options during each phase. Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to improve your Y!
